On Friday, October 24, Bard’s Family Weekend began. And, as always, the Bard Debate Union joined together with the Center for Civic Engagement to plan an event that would have appeal to visiting families and alumni. This year we decided to host a Faculty-Student Roundtable on the topic of “The US and ISIS.” Panel participants were: Professor Walter Russell Mead, the James Clarke Chace Processor of Foreign Affairs and the Humanities; Professor Peter Rosenblum, Professor of International Law and Human Rights Law; and Bard College seniors and Bard Debate Union members, Stephanie Presch and Jesse Verven. And what an event it was! The room was packed; there were even people sitting on the floor. And the panelists all did an amazing job addressing this issue of pressing international concern. Go Bard Debate!
