The Bard Debate Union traveled in a large group the the Cornell Debate Tournament, February 11-12, 2012. The team took 8 worlds debaters, 2 policy debaters, 3 judges, and 2 coaches. We were particularly excited to have many new debaters join us. While the team as a whole struggled a bit to earn wins given the very high level of competition, varsity policy debaters, John “JJ” Jeworski and Sam Jaffe-Goldstein, persevered and pulled off an impressive 3-3 record in preliminary rounds. They advanced to Quarterfinals and finished the tournament tied for 5th place. Way to go Sam and JJ and special thanks to Michael “Lux” Luxemburg for all of his coaching help!
