Bard Debate Union Co-Directors, Ruth Zisman and David Register, regularly offer workshops and lectures on debate, public speaking, and presentation skills. Our aim is to help faculty throughout the Bard network to integrate debate training and education into the classroom experience. We have offered guest lectures in Bard classes as well as run student workshops through various Bard programs (L&T, Citizen Science, Bard Works, SUSI, LLI, etc.). We also run workshops for faculty members who are interested in learning more about using debate in the classroom.
Bard Debate Union Assistant Coach, Nathaniel Carlsen ’18, is also available to work with students as a public speaking tutor – a new service offered through the Bard Learning Commons, where Nathaniel works as the Tutor Coordinator.
