The Bard Debate Union, founded in 2004, is a community of individuals committed to promoting the values of civic discourse, dialogue, and debate throughout the Bard College community, the greater Hudson Valley region of New York, and the world at large. Since 2004, we have competed at the highest levels of both policy debate (CEDA/NDT) and parliamentary debate (BP/WUDC), traveling every year to numerous inter-collegiate debate tournaments at colleges and universities throughout the US. The Bard Debate Union also hosts several public debates, debate workshops, and lectures (all open to the public) every semester. Lastly, the Bard Debate Union is involved in numerous debate outreach projects in local middle schools and high schools, the Bard High School Early Colleges, and the Bard Prison Initiative. Whether you like to speak your mind or argue just for the sake of arguing, come check out the Bard Debate Union!
